The Lever Glossary

Tried n' tested bias

When leveraging social proof to reduce perceived risk.

Why it works

Humans are risk-averse and prefer options that have already been vetted by others. Knowing that a process or product has worked for someone else removes the fear of being the first to try it.

Example

We helped three of your direct competitors decrease their overhead costs by over twenty percent last quarter.

An illustration of the mechanism, not a template. Copied verbatim it stops being persuasion and starts being the pattern everyone else is already sending.

Is your sequence pulling this one?
